Governor Charity Ngilu’s Government is committed in fighting poverty and embracing initiatives that focus on improving the livelihoods of Kitui residents.
This was revealed by her Deputy Dr Wathe Nzau, when charing the County Drought Mitigation Response Team, whose membership was drawn from the Senior Executive Team and other Senior County Officers, to assess the drought situation in the County.
The meeting which was held today at Kitui Agricultural Training Centre (ATC), was a follow up of another meeting which was held on Wednesday this week on the same agenda.
The team is preparing to come up with short, mid and long term interventions, *then on them brief the Governor, the Cabinet and Senior Executive Team, mid this month.
In that meeting, Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Department of Water and Irrigation and Department of Livestock presented the measures they are taking as a way of mitigation.
