County Executive Council Member for Sports, Culture and Gender, Mrs. Hellena Kitheka this evening joined a volleyball team from Migwani ward for an evening game at the Migwani AP post grounds.

Addressing the elated youth shortly after the sparring session, Waziri encouraged the youth to continue using sports as means of keeping away from drugs and substance abuse.

Reiterating Governor Charity Ngilu’s unending support for matters sports and youth development, waziri encouraged the budding young men to take up sports as a career and ultimately as a source of income.
” There is alot of potential for sportsmanship in Kenya and moreso Kitui. Don’t slow down, soon there will be trials for many teams, national and organization sponsored, the government shall support you in anyway.” She said.

Accompanied by various officials from the county department of sports, Waziri presented the team with 2 Volley Balls and a net to facilitate the teams practice sessions and promised to ensure that team was well facilitated in future.

She also revealed that she will be in attendance in Mutomo as youth teams battle it out in a soccer game at the Mutomo stadium, Sunday.
