A milestone for Kitui as Ngilu launches fleet of livestock carriers.
Governor Charity Ngilu today has opened bottomless opportunities for wealth Creation in Kitui county with the launch of these livestock carriers.
Considered a game changer in livestock trade farmers and traders will be saved the loss of approximately Sh.3.1 b.annually.
Initially, over 1,000 cows,goats and sheep trekked daily across the County resulting into loss of weight, reduced value and poor quality meat. Consequently each of the 1000 cows trekking daily loses approximately 20 kilograms, which translates to 20,000 kilograms of beef lost daily.
Every week therefore, Kitui loses Kes. 60,000,000 which amounts to an annual loss of Kes. 3.1 billion.
In yet another transformative action in launching these Livestock transportation trucks, Governor Charity Ngilu is fulfilling her election pledge which apart from many other things , she promised to facilitate Wealth Creation amongst people of Kitui County
