Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu on Monday 27th, September 2022 Signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the National Hospital Insurance Fund and kitui County Government.

The event was witnessed by NHIF CEO Mr Peter Kamunyo Gathenge, kitui Executive Member for health and sanitation Dr Winnie Kitetu, and several County Executive from kitui at their head office in Nairobi.

Ngilu revealed that, kitui is set to launch the county Universal Health Coverage recruitment exercise in Kitui County On Friday at kitui town.

Speaking during the signing of the MOU, the Governor of kitui lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for supporting the UHC Coverage and urged other counties to support the the UHC Program in their counties.

In kitui, the Nobel exercise seeks to targets over 100 000 households in kitui County, those who will have subscribed to the UHC Medical Coverage, they will get medical attention across the country.

The county government of kitui will pay 50 % of the UHC subscription for her people which is equivalent to three thousand shillings each for the members who will pay NHIF subscription.
