Development programs sponsored by the USAID in Kitui County are solemnly intended to boost a sustainable economic and social environment.

This was revealed by Mr. Mark Meassick, the East Africa USAID mission director today while he addressed media in the presence of Governor Charity Ngilu.

In his remarks, Mr. Meassick acknowledged the strides Kitui County has achieved under the leadership of Governor Ngilu and re-assured Kitui residents of continuous support from the US based firm in implementation of the Governor’s 5 Pillar manifesto.

“Kitui has done very many things, infact we have seen remarkable things that we have seen nowhere else in the region. We can attest to what Good leadership can achieve through Governor Charity Ngilu’s model.” He said.

Acknowledging the importance of county Governments in promoting development, Mr. Meassick also said USAID was committed to working with the county Government and all the stake holders to ensuring that through devolution, Kitui residents would benefit fully from Governor Ngilu’s 5 pillar manifesto.

Mr. Meassick was speaking shortly after signing an MOU with the Kitui County Government.

In this MOU residents will benefit from projects that support the promotion of an inclusive and sustainable economic, social and political development plan in Kitui County.

This plan will be made alligned to Governor Charity Ngilu’s 5 Pillar manifesto.
