The late Martha Nduku Kimanthi, a GNCA Church member and philanthropist born in 1920, was laid to rest on Friday 29th October, 2021 at their farm in Ngaikini Village, Kanziko Ward in Kitui South Subcounty
Nduku was the wife to the late Kimanzi Kilyungi, and a grandmother to the renowned and outspoken Kanziko Ward MCA Hon. James Munuve, serving his second elective term at the County Assembly of Kitui, among others.
The late Nduku, was eulogized as a caring, committed and social parent by family members, relatives, friends and leaders. She committed her dear life to agriculture, and later founded a widow group, namely Muka Mui Women.
The late Nduku suffered a knee and hip dislocation, while undertaking family and social chores.
HE Governor Charity Ngilu was represented at the burial ceremony by her Trade, Cooperatives and Investment Chief Officer Dr. Richard Muthoka, in a send off ceremony attended by;
Kitui County Women Representative Hon. Irene Kasalu, Majority Leader and Athi Ward MCA Hon. Peter Kilonzo -Tangawizi, area MCA Hon.
James Munuve, former Deputy Governor HE Peninah Malonza, Kitui South parliamentary aspirant Mumo King and politicians Ben Kilonzo, Jeremiah Kisangau,
Justus Mutunga and
Katunda Kingangi among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Muthoka steered Governor Ngilu’s Universal Health Cover, Empowerment Fund and the ongoing IEBC mass voter registration, the later was echoed by other leaders.
