Kitui.
Community leaders from Mutomo/Kibwea Ward in Kitui South have endorsed Governor Charity Ngilu’s reelection in 2022 polls citing her ambitious track record.
The over a hundred leaders, accompanied by their MCA David Masaku, vowed to rally area voters behind the county chief in the countdown to next year’s general elections.
They spoke during a consultative meeting with the governor at Agricultural Training Center (ATC).
“Your administration has done a commendable job in transforming the lives of Kitui people.
“Under your visionary leadership, numerous life-changing projects have been implemented in every corner of our county,” lauded Mutomo business community chairman Kyalo Benjamin who led the delegation.
They lauded Governor Ngilu for setting up KICOTEC, Kitui Food Industries, KICOYDEC, Kitui Leather Industries, and the ballast crusher, among other flagship projects.
“These industrial investments have created numerous employment opportunities for our jobless youth and women besides placing Kitui on the national and global map as a manufacturing hub,” added Mr. Kyalo.
The leaders also warned the Kitui electorate against falling prey to smear campaigns mounted by Governor Ngilu’s detractors and instead support her development agenda.
On her part, the Governor thanked Kitui South residents for their unwavering support and pledged to foster more development for the county.
“It gives me great pleasure to invest in projects and programs that liberate our people from the yoke of poverty through skills development and wealth creation,” she affirmed.
She further dismissed her opponents as delusional and lacking agenda for the people of Kitui but emphasized that their rhetoric won’t sway her commitment to lead Kitui into socioeconomic prosperity.
On matters of national politics, the leaders and the county boss unanimously agreed to back ODM luminary Raila Odinga’s quest for presidency come 2022.
“Assure Raila of our full support because we have faith in his agenda for the country once he takes over the reigns of power,” they vowed.
