Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu’s administration has began rolling out the Universal Healthcare (UHC) for all.
The drive which begins on December 15 this year and ends on December 30 will target 135,000 families in the entire county.
Each household will pay Sh3,000 while the county government will pay the remaining Sh3,000 for health cover.
Today, Ngilu chaired a meeting in her board room between her senior officers and the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to work on the framework in streamlining the framework and harmonising the registration drive.
The County Secretary Ms Agnes Mulewa urged people to turn up in large numbers and take up the opportunity by registering in the UHC scheme.
Ms Mulewa said a team will visit every sub county to ensure the deserving households benefited from the health cover.
