Kitui County was ranked among the best counties in terms of comprehensive transparency in budget Making process nationally.

According to Kenya’s County Budget Transparency Survey 2021 released by International Budget Partnership (IBP) Kenya at Serena Hotel today 13th May 2022, Kitui County was ranked No. 1 in South Eastern Kenyan Bloc (SEKEB) and No. 5 Nationality on Budget Transparency.
In terms of the comprehensiveness of published budget documents, Kitui County scooped 2 awards both ranked Position 1 Nationally: County Budget Review and outlook Paper and Approved Programme Based Budget. The Performance is based on International Budget Partnership Kenya Scale.
