The Permanent Secretary for Devolution Madam Terry Mbaika and Commissioner Benedict Muasya Mutiso are among the government leaders attending the 9th Ordinary Session of National & County Governments Coordinating Summit in Naivasha.
The two-day Summit chaired by President Dr William Ruto is also attended by members of the cabinet and other government leaders brings together The Council of Governors, Treasury, and Commission on Revenue Allocation.
The summit is a forum where the two levels of government meet to discuss and negotiate areas of cooperation and thus act as an interface for seamless collaboration between the two levels of government.
The theme of this year’s summit is EFFECTIVE INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH AND SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH THE BOTTOM-UP MODEL.
The Impasse over equitable share revenue, intergovernmental relations, and disbursement of county funds are among hot-button issues that are topping the agenda of the meeting.
The meeting is taking place at Enshapai, Nakuru County.
Also in the discussion table during the ninth National and County Government Coordinating Summit are constitutional affairs, devolution of functions and resources.
The critical bills concerning county governments, audit reports ,and court cases between the two levels of go
