DR Malombe has made another history in the Devolution calendar as he becomes the first governor to absorb ECDE teachers into permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
The 1898 out of 2401 will not only smile in class but by the end of the month, all the way to their banks as a degree holder begins the ladder from Job Group K. Those with certificates will form the lowest cadre(Job group F) in the establishment.
Another 503 have failed to meet requirements while the rest are retiring and have until December before a new lot replaces them.
Announcing the good news, Kitui Public Service Board Chair Dr. Makindi noted, “Today marks a milestone in Dr. Malombe’s administration as 1898 can now plan for their career and life. They can now ascend to the pinnacle of their career and reap from all the benefits there in, for they have a scheme of service.”
Dodging her rare smile, the chair endeared the tutors of their critical role as “The education foundation, the roots of everyone’s career falls squarely in the hands of you the ECDE teachers.” Insisted Dr. Makindi
She promised more chances as the retiring lot will be replaced openly and fairly giving an equitable opportunity for all Kitui people.
